After a ‘yoyo’ victory over Aston Villa in the FA cup, we come again to drop 2 vital points in the premier league, it seems as if teams above us usually give us clues about what to do. When chelsea drew swansea on tuesday, I was expecting Arsenal to capitalize on the chelsea result and close the gap between chelsea and us but I was forced to take two spoons of the “wenger bitters” again.
The match in itself looked too familiar to the Arsenal’s matches I’ve been seeing over the years except that “the script was a little edited” so as to enhance the “commerciability”.
We started the match and lots of chances were being created by the team, giving me some sort of hope that we’ll finally get back to winning ways after 3 straight losses in the league.
In the first half, Van Persie headed past the keeper but his attempt at goal was cleared off the line by Wheater, Aaron ramsey also had a good chance at goal but he couldn’t get the ball into the net.
AOC blazed a goal scoring opportunity wild into the air after RVP had provided him with a good chance at goal. RVP also lost some goal scoring opportunities and we would have been made to pay for it had Ngog converted the two chances he had. His first chance was parried by sczesny while the second was millimeters wide.
The first half ended and I could guess how the match was going to end, I’ve seen Arsenal dominate matches that way and end up to lose the match in the second half but I still had my fingers crossed and hoped wenger won’t make the mistake of taking AOC off in the second half.
The second half started and we continued dominating the match with Alex-oxlade chamberlain being at his lively best. We were however unable to take full advantage of our dominance of the match, thanks to the ‘wastefulness’ of our players especially walcott and also due to the goal post.
VanPersie almost scored the ‘opener’ but his effort from a sagna cross rebounded back off the near post.
We kept dominating them but they stood tall in defence while they kept repelling all we threw at them and were waiting for a good chance to catch us on the break.
The big chance for the night came when Robin Van Persie worked himself into a good position and his delightful chip beat the goalkeeper but the crossbar was there again to deny him from scoring.
It was Bolton that left the pitch the happier side after gaining one point in the relegation battle while Arsenal lost two points in their Champions League qualification battle.
